Music by Ned Rorem Libretto by J.D. McClatchy based on Thornton Wilder's play.

Thornton Wilder's Our Town opened on Broadway on February 4, 1938. It was immediately acclaimed and awarded the Pulitzer Prize for drama that year.  The novel has been in print since 1938 and sells about 75,000 copies a year.  Civic Opera Theater will be presenting the opera June 27 and June 29, 2008 at the Folly Theater.  Check site soon for ticketing information.
